films not showing Singapore 2026
The list is long. We're tracking it.
Every year, critically acclaimed films skip Singapore entirely. No theatrical release. No showtimes. Nothing. Here's what's missing from Singapore screens in 2026 — and what you can do about it.
If you've ever searched for a film and hit a wall of 'not available in Singapore', you know the feeling. It happens constantly. Films win at Cannes, Venice, Berlin — they get released across Europe, North America, Australia — and Singapore gets nothing. Or worse, a single-week run at odd hours that sells out before you hear about it. In 2026, the situation is slowly improving. Filmhouse at Golden Mile Tower and SFS Somerset at Cineleisure are picking up some of the slack The Projector left behind when it closed in August 2025. But the majority of indie and international releases still don't make it here. The reason is simple economics: Singapore's mainstream distributors don't think the audience exists. Strata Film Club disagrees. We track every film that Singapore cinephiles want to see, and we're building a community large enough to prove the demand is real. When enough people want a screening, we make it happen.
